ALUMNI TRACKING

Alumni tracking (tracer study) is conducted annually by sending out questionnaires. These questionnaires are distributed annually during the regular Mechanical Engineering Alumni Gathering or via email. In addition, alumni tracking is also conducted through direct interviews via telephone or direct visits to the institutions or companies where alumni work.

Process and mechanism of alumni tracking

  • Alumni are identified through the alumni mailing list and the Facebook group Forum Lintas Generasi, which includes mechanical engineering alumni from all over Indonesia and abroad.
  • The questionnaire is compiled by the alumni tracking team, covering the character, professionalism, and work capabilities of alumni based on the assessments or opinions of the leaders of the institutions or companies where the alumni work.
  • The distribution of questionnaires is generally done via postal services or email, as well as through direct interviews with institutions or companies during alumni reunions, seminars, or symposia.
  • To anticipate difficulties, alumni working at institutions or companies are requested to facilitate the distribution of questionnaires to their institutional or company leaders, who will then return them to the program.
  • Collection and tabulation of data from the alumni tracking study
Analysis and interpretation of the tabulated data
Developing follow-up plans based on the tracer study results as input for the program, particularly in curriculum revision and improvement of teaching materials.
